american_desi Posted March 10 Report Posted March 10 There are other things in EU that Americans have to envy about like better food safety standards and better gini coefficient, better job security and better work-life balance 1 Quote
Popular Post american_desi Posted March 10 Popular Post Report Posted March 10 Gini coefficient eu vs usa The United States generally exhibits a higher Gini coefficient than most European nations, indicating greater income inequality, while the EU as a whole has a lower Gini coefficient, suggesting a more equitable income distribution. Here's a more detailed comparison: Gini Coefficient Explained: The Gini coefficient is a measure of income inequality, with a value of 0 representing perfect equality and 1 (or 100%) representing perfect inequality. A higher Gini coefficient indicates greater income disparity, while a lower coefficient suggests a more even distribution of income. EU vs. USA: EU: The EU as a whole has a Gini coefficient around 29.6, according to Eurostat data, indicating a relatively equitable income distribution compared to the US. USA: The US Gini coefficient is around 41.3, according to the World Bank indicating higher income inequality compared to most EU countries. Nordic countries: Nordic countries in Europe, such as Finland and Sweden, have similar income per capita to the US, but much lower Gini coefficients, according to the Federal Reserve Bank of St. Louis. EU disparities: While the EU as a whole has a lower Gini coefficient, there are disparities among member states, with some countries like Bulgaria having higher inequality than others. Factors: The lower inequality in Europe is often attributed to factors like stronger social safety nets, more progressive tax systems, and more generous social transfers, according to the Federal Reserve Bank of St. Louis. 1 2 Quote
appusri Posted March 10 Report Posted March 10 Anyone who thinks that the US will be the same in future with the isolationist attitude has no idea about the world politics and the real value of soft power. The US will not be the same. And the Trump's foriegn policy is blunder and the timing will damage even more ; especialy when China is about to replace the US. The world embraced the US in order to put the world in certain order. This is unwritten rule of law across the world. The US under Trump disrupted that and the world will be waiting for someone take that mantle. Countries don't want the choatic world with nuclear proliferation. 1 Quote
