Let’s say I borrowed money at 7% yesterday, it will say that way until it’s maturity. Which could be 10 years etc. If Powell reduces interest rate in next month, it will have no impact. Also, if stock market crashes etc, GOVT loses revenue because civilians and corporations will pay less tax since they do not make enough money.
