Texas has its own beauty.. though it cannot compete with north east or California or Florida.. plenty of state parks and lakes nearby.. Dallas area lo water activities chala untaayi year round.. manollu maree ekkuva mandi vellaru.. Velle vallu vlogs chese type kaademo.. I see plenty of Indians in my camping trips, mostly non telugus.. one hr lo 2 casinos, 3 hrs lo broken bow, etc etc south padre and big bend are beautiful.. big bend is one of its kind.. Also Vegas, Florida, Cali, Denver and Chicago ki round trip flights 50-100 ki vastaayi… most mestris go to Vegas on the weekends.. I used to question like you, but i am slowly chainging my opinion. it's like living in india - hyd/vja etc.. how you lived in your childhood/20s. Only thing you have is fellow desis and restaurants. Not everyone wants seasons/parks/nature etc. If you are a bit well off, as @Thokkalee said it's in the middle of country, well connected by cheap airfares to most places. Also, weather - sometimes I think it's good to bear heat than the snow in the north east. Quote

That's reality. It has become adda for maestris and students....cheap housing bought lot of silicon valley employees... It's irreversible - unless all companies stop WFH,which is not going to happen. NJ and TX property taxes are pretty similar too.. It used to be very cheap to live in Texas like 5-10 years ago but homes became expensive from the pandemic time due to the high inflow of new residents.. Quote
