Hi All,
NEED HELP!!
The incident happened in Phoenix AZ, in Oct 2023. wherein the neighbour called the cops because I was yelling at my kids for studies. I just asked my wife to come inside unknowingly that touching can lead to DV.
When the cops came, I told them exactly what happened and they asked me if I was aware that touching is a crime, and I said No. As it's a common thing in India.
The cops took me to the police station, handcuffed.
There they took my finger prints and I was taken to the court. There also I was fingerprinted.
I was waiting outside the court and before my number came to appear in front of the judge, a representative came out and told me that you don't have to attend the proceedings as my case is dismissed without prejudice.
I took all my belongings and came back home the same day.
My H1B visa got extended in Sep2024 for another 3 years along my wife's H4(and H4-EAD)
In Nov 2024, I got a letter from the that said 'Case Dismissed' and highlighted 'Without Prejudice'
Since I am on H1B, can someone give me a legal advice?
1. Will there be any impact on my Green Card?
Or further H1B extension?
2. If I go to India, will getting the stamping be smooth?
Or It will be denied? Or what are the possibilities?
3. What all documents should I get from the court or police station for successful stamping?
4. Will there be any issues at the port of entry?
5. Anything else I need to take care of?
Thanks!!
