I think he is trying to create a slow down to reduce interest rates. So that his rich friends/corporations can get both tax breaks as well as low interest loans. There are some genuine people who worked their assess of and their 401k balances are going down. That is their only source of funds at the verge of retirement. Imagine their stress levels.
