That's a small price to pay, but could derail entire Canadian Auto industry built in Southern Ontario. The top two blocks of economy in Canada are Oil and Auto industry. Trump got lock on one for now. If Canada retaliates back by restricting Oil, and counter tariffs then Canadians get even more fcuked as they can't ship their Oil else where (no pipelines to either coasts) and Canadian consumer will be scrapping their bank accounts. Entire economy is going to be chokehold in Canada, unless Trump gives them exemption. He hasn't touched USMCA yet. Will have to how that unravels. Quote

Yes, Canada will have to see if Tatah's tariffs are in violation of USMCA to decide any legal remedial measures. If Tatah uses enough fire power, USMCA can be rewritten to model EU. It doesn't matter anymore. There is no difference between Conservative and Liberal agenda at this point. All of them talk of standing up to Tatah, but none tells you how without fcuking Canadians over it Unless Oil is exported to Asia and Europe there is literally zero way for Canada to bring in Dollars. Both liberals and Conservatives don't talk about it. Heck, Canada doesn't even have an Oil refinery. It has to sell crude to US and import refined gas. All of eastern Canada (Ontario is better to an extent) runs on equalization payments from Alberta. Cut that goose, they can't survive long. Quote
