Almost every family I know want their children especially girl children to go to Medical School. Bigger entry barrier = less people coming in. Unpopular opinion. Engineering is a tough field. Engineering doesn't mean IT. Girls can't handle challenges of engineering to the same extent. The med schools are very expensive and could keep you in debt for years, so Desi strategy of getting you educated outside US and then take USMLE and take up residency and practice in the US. 1 Quote

Tellugodu Posted March 29 Report Posted March 29 Highly competitive medical specialties such as cardiology and gastroenterology can generate annual earnings of around a million dollars. These roles are safeguarded by high entry barriers and board certification requirements, making it difficult to replace experienced doctors with younger/less expensive workers (unlike IT/tech). Although these specialists face a high tax burden, it is often mitigated by becoming partners (co-owners) in their practice. With only about 1,000 to 1,200 positions available nationwide, these specialties remain highly competitive. In contrast, most individuals pursuing a career in medicine end up working as primary care physicians or in less competitive fields. Quote

Judges and Lawyers should be completely replaced much quicker. Quote
