In tough times, non-coding positions are the first to go anna..always been the case since 2008... Developers always safe but salary will be capped...eventually you'll be tempted to go into functional or management roles for higher salary and career progression... When disaster strikes, that guy who's not considered ambitious to grow will be in a safer place than you..whether you want to take the risk or play it safe entirely depends on you. Ideal solution is to choose career progression into mgmt/functional but always stay uptodate technologically...but that's easier said than done.. 1 Quote
