హైదరాబాద్‌లోని కంచ గచ్చిబౌలి ప్రాంతంలో గల భూముల వ్యవహారంపై కేంద్ర ప్రభుత్వం స్పందించింది. 400 ఎకరాల భూములను పరిరక్షించాలంటూ హైదరాబాద్ కేంద్రీయ విశ్వవిద్యాలయం (హెచ్‌సీయూ) విద్యార్థులు, విద్యార్థి సంఘాలు, ప్రతిపక్ష పార్టీల నాయకులు నిరసన వ్యక్తం చేస్తున్నారు. ఈ అంశాన్ని బీజేపీ ఎంపీలు పార్లమెంటు ఉభయ సభల్లో సైతం లేవనెత్తారు.

కంచ గచ్చిబౌలి భూములపై వాస్తవ నివేదికను పంపాల్సిందిగా తెలంగాణ అటవీ శాఖను తాజాగా కేంద్రం ఆదేశించింది. ఈ మేరకు కేంద్ర అటవీ, పర్యావరణ శాఖ రాష్ట్ర ప్రభుత్వానికి సమాచారం అందించింది.

ఈ నేపథ్యంలో న్యాయస్థానాల తీర్పులను పరిగణనలోకి తీసుకొని ముందుకు వెళ్లాలని, అటవీ చట్టాలకు లోబడి చర్యలు చేపట్టాలని కేంద్ర ప్రభుత్వం సూచించింది. కంచ గచ్చిబౌలి ప్రాంతంలోని ఈ భూమికి సంబంధించిన వాస్తవ నివేదిక వివరాలను, తీసుకున్న చర్యలను నివేదిక రూపంలో సమర్పించాలని కేంద్రం పేర్కొంది.

Environment Ministry seeks report on “illegal” felling and “removal” of vegetation in Kancha Gachibowli land 

The Union Ministry of Environment & Forests has sought a ‘factual’ and an ‘action taken’ report on the “illegal” felling and “removal” of vegetation in 400 acres of Kancha Gachibowli in Rangareddy district by the Telangana Industrial Infrastructure Corporation (TGIIC), on Wednesday (April 3, 2025).

In a communication to the Additional Secretary (Forests) here, Assistant Inspector General of Forests S. Sundar stated that there have been various reports in the print and social media alleging damage to wildlife found in the said land, its lakes and unique rock formation.

Civil society delegation lists six Schedule-I species in Kancha Gachibowli site in talks with government

A delegation comprising civil society members, members of JAC from University of Hyderabad (UoH), environmentalists and activists which met the Telangana Cabinet members on Tuesday brought to their notice, the existence of six species of fauna listed under the Schedule-I of the Wildlife Protection Act, 1972 at the site of Kancha Gachibowli, where the government seeks to auction 400 acres of land for IT and mixed use development.

Indian peafowl, Bengal monitor lizard, Indian rock python, Indian star tortoise, osprey and four horned antelope were the six species listed by the delegation before Deputy Chief Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka, and ministers D.Sridhar Babu and Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy. One more species not mentioned in the meeting was Indian flapshell turtle, the delegation members later revealed.

 

However, Principal Chief Conservator of Forests R.M.Dobriyal, who was present at the meeting, pleaded ignorance of the presence of the listed species, and said the area has not been classified as forest, and that the process of identification of deemed forests as per the Godavarman judgement of the Supreme Court had begun just a month ago in Telangana.

Mr.Sridhar Babu reportedly questioned the delegation why the authorities had not been alerted about the presence of Schedule I species in the campus. Representatives from the Save City Forest reportedly presented the evidence of forest officials being frequenters to the university in cases pertaining to poaching and feral dog attacks.

Members also raised questions about the violation of the WALTA Act, 2002, which prohibits felling of trees without permission at the site, lack of biodiversity assessment, and absence of any Environmental Impact Assessment required for the project.

The delegation led by former professor of UoH and activist G.Haragopal and comprising environmentalist Donthi Narasimha Reddy, activists Kiran Kumar Vissa, Arun Vasireddy and Save City Forest members Shivani and Anju, among others, placed four demands before the ministers -- to withdraw the deployment of dozens of earthmoving machinery immediately from the site, revoke all cases against the students, review the auction proposal and hand over the 400-acre land to the UoH.

Principal Secretary, Land Revenue, Naveen Mittal explained to the delegation that the land did not belong to the UoH, and placed evidence pertaining to the alienation of the land from the university in exchange for land allocation at another site.

However, Mr. Haragopal clarified that the current agitation had been launched on moral grounds and not legal grounds, as the land parcel was granted way back in 1970s when UoH was established as part of the Six Point Formula proposed by the then prime minister Indira Gandhi. Though the university had no title for the land, all the 2,300-odd acres of land enclosed by the compound wall had come to be considered as the UoH land, he mentioned. Once the allocation to the private entity was cancelled in 2006, the land should have been returned to the university honouring its history, he pointed out. The ministers, while not giving assurances on any demand, said the points raised by the delegation will be deliberated upon.

But uni ki sambandinchina land documents gayab hain. Idhi nenu Hyd lo chadive rojullo back in 2009 matter. Registrar and above guys involved. All admin staff of HCU are involved in real estate deals. Danini Sarkar records lo poramboku bhoomi ani choopincharu. 

2022 lo High court ichina teerupu lo land TG govt. ki ichindhi. That's because HCU didn't show land documents that were "gayab".

Correct bhayya , revanth emi chesina ee social media lo negative gaa chupustunaru .. but real beneficiaries village lo under janalu , valley bagane connect ayyaru... Monna sanna biyyam pathakam start chesadu , after ntr 2 rupees pathakam tharuvantha malli alanti pathakam antunaru ... But no publicity on that by congress ....

HCU vishyam lo oppose chese batch ki aaku puvvu difference theliyadhu. Hyd lo chala poramboku lands unnavi, anni chotla bushes unnaayi, avi sari chesi proper forestation chesthe oxygen ki ibbandi undadhu. Main problem for Hyd is not lack of forestation, but traffic and the pollution being generated from that traffic.

Revanth CM kaka mundhu nundi follow avuthunna, he has clear plans on some important issues related to Hyd - First thing rain vacchina prathisari water roads meedha vasthundhi, adhi solve cheyyadam. Second Hyd traffic ni thagginchadam abd beautification of Hyd.. Opposition parties too much unreasonable ga unnayi. Especially BRS fake propaganda has no boundaries. BRS IT cell guys - Konatham Dileep and Krishank along with KTR. This trio is dangerous to the TG society. The sooner people realise the better it would be.

HCU kindha 3000 acres varaku undhi, Hitech city, Financial district, Kokapet..west side core area mottham kalipina around 500 acres untundi, ee 400 acres join aithe Hyd next level velthundhi. And easy ga 5 lakh jobs Telangana youth ki create cheyyocchu. But the people who have climbed in the ladder don't want the others to climb and use those resources. Its pure greed and envy.

Another reasons bada real estate people MyHome, Aparna, Rajapushpa lanti vaallu antha Kokapet Neopolis lo vipareethamga kattaaru, avi inka sale lo unnayi. Ee 400 acres free ayithe vaati demand thagguthundhi. BRS doesn't want that.
