But we will flex our muscle when it comes to Pakistan and Bangladesh. No sarcasm intended. That’s a fact at this juncture. Our foreign policy is very defensive with big players. 

There are only 2-3 bigwigs than India in almost every sphere.

Issues with Pakistan and Bangladesh are historical and in neighborhood, There are instances where we dealt softly and then instances where we were tough. Those issues are mostly demographic and emotional in nature.

With US and other major trade partners, Things are different. Trade with Middle east, relations with Arab world or EU, AsEAN nations etc is at a different level.

I think India is the only staunch supporter of USA amongst the BRICS at this moment. All others are slowly alienating themselves from USA for obvious reasons. India can leverage that paradigm to its advantage, but we probably won’t.

We are already doing that—in fact, we will be the closest American ally in all of Asia.  

Working with the U.S. doesn’t mean we are subordinate or working for them; that’s not how trade operates. India, for instance, is actively pursuing non-dollar transactions in its own interest, yet it continues to grow as one of the U.S.'s largest trading partners.  

We have our own strategies and opportunities, as well as our weaknesses. Balancing them is essential, but that doesn’t imply weakness or submission.

Antha bomma ledhu. You can't win a trade war with US when your 80% of trade is with it and it being the ONLY CUSTOMER OF CANADIAN OIL & GAS.  😂 

Canada will face a depression and an eventual buy out to be a 51st state or become EU model with free trade with US, metaphorically forming a 51st state. No two ways about it.

We should try for joint ventures or collaboration in some important projects, we need technology transfer in many area to leap-frog..to catchup with China and the west. AI, Quantum Computers, NASA-ISRO, Defence maintenance, Thorium related tech, nuclear fusion related projects. AI, Quantum, Thorium reactors, nuclear fusion will define the future. Defence maintenance doesn't require critical technology sharing, but it will help India increasing its revenue through defence infra.
