Hmm, so establishing a plant is easy. Sourcing Raw materials and building manufacturing within six months? LOL.

i will end the discussion here with one word - Forget about building plants, syncing their ERP systems to new plants won't happenĀ

I worked in auto company by the way for more than 10 years before starting my own businessĀ

What about it?Ā  If it has to come from 10 countries, so shall be it. You will work on alternate vendors in parallel too if numbers make sense.

Neekosame idhi raasa. Ford Willow plant ni 18 months lo establish chesindhi in 2.5 million cubic feet. That's in early 1940's. It manufactured B24 (liberator) bombers there.Ā

What's the guarantee that next government doesn't change tariffs.Ā

Forget next government, trump changes his stand so often it's laughable.

He himself praised mexico trade agreement in last term that he signed .

One more thing- what about Congress who has authority to block Trump?Ā

Ā

Businesses don't like uncertaintyĀ

Trump hasn't touched USMCA yet. He's unlikely to do so. Even if he did he would further strengthen it but will not dismantle it.

President is bestowed with Emergency Powers, which he can draw up on in case of a Congressional road block. There is very little Congress can do about it.Ā

Possible that a different POTUS may do something different. Unwinding it will not happen in a day too. It's like repeating entire 80s again.Ā

This is how a b24 (liberator) looks

US had highly motivated workforce coming out of depression in new deal

the workforce today no where close to what it used to be

one can live on past laurels like india, US manufacturing prowess is a history

Most of the manufacturing process is automated too. You just don't need as many workers at this time. The idea here is to cut trade deficits and keep money in the US.Ā

keep the money in US and world does not need dollars to trade.. simple

once reserve currency status is gone, dollars will automatically come back home and stay home anyway

i meant even syncing their systens wont happen in 6 months .and you are hallucinating that manufacturing take over will happen..Ā

Their is a huge difference between setting up an additional plant for assembly vs shifting over entire operations here..Ā
