There is no united South Indian culture. Let's say if there is, what characteristics does such a culture have in common? Quote

It's based on Lunar calendar. Tamils follow Solar calendar. Inka Maharastrians chestharu "Gudi padwa" ani. Sankranti suryudu 'makara' raasi loki transition avuthadu kabatti aa peru. Lol, punjabis also celebrate their own new year with a different name. It's called Bisakhi and it's based on Solar Calendar as well. It's more in line with Tamils, than Telugus then. What you're calling "cultural" is not specific to Southern part of India and is again tied to Hindu religion by and large. Whole of India has convergence of names tied to Hindusim and so are "concepts". Ofcourse, Christianity and Islam as well have convergence of names across India. Quote
