Speaks languages from the same family.

Population mostly from a single base, similar genetic composition

All the languages in india were heavily influenced by Sanskrit for a long time now. "Tamil" exceptionalists started alienating Sanskrit words in Tamil in order to make it sound "pure Tamil".

Telugu has had a huge Sanskrit influence for a long time as well. Telugu in Telangana has had Dakhni influence for so long that most of the Andhra people can't even understand it completely.

All four southern languages have been split into four distinct languages with distinct written script and distinct pronunciations.

You could search for similarities between different cultures in India as a whole too.

Yes, that's right. Periyarists and Dravidian ideologues somehow overlook that part.

Sanskrit is not present much in spoken telugu ,most of the sanskrit in spoken telugu is either loan words from dravidian taken to sanskrit and exported back as sanskrit words or they have entered telugu very recently due to media and formal telugu being available abundantly .

Sanskrit has infiltrated telugu literature because most of it was written by Brahmins.

If you look at telugu used by migrants to T.N whose language was fossilised at the time they migrated to T.N ,they barely have any sanskrit words at all.

what if there are similarities between other states? That's not relevant to us.

Almost all surnames will be pure telugu tamil.

First names have sanskrit in them because of religion ,even many christians have telugu surnames plus Christian names.

Banned by who? DMK?

Lot of Tamils still use their caste names like I mentioned earlier but never heard of them having surname concept.

Yeah DMK banned it.

Mostly Brahmins use caste names very rare in other castes.

There is no official ban at all. Tamils still use Caste names. Caste groupings are very common in Tamil Nadu, much like Andhra. Across political lines you will see groupings in highschools, colleges on caste lines like Gounders, Thevars, Vanniyars, Mudaliars, so on.
