long ago when some sects hid knowledge or reduced access to knowledge for others that was a crime, now too much information per person or unnecessary information for an individual is available so called intellectuals say this is wrong. Ability to access information selectively should be a self determined characteristic.

Arundathi Roy is a Marxist propagandist. There was a time when she actively called for Kashmir Liberation. It's not surprising that she wants censorship on information.

At least in democratic structures, responsible people should fight fake information. Moreover many are twisting or polluting fundamentals of any ideology.

Consumption is an individual choice. What do you think? You need restrictions on it?

what to and what not to restrict? who should be the gate keeper? This has been a dilemma even for free speech proponents

That was my previous question`s intent , if we speak or say whatever at will , few agree few disagree, some respond to disagreements with muscle power or money power or position power. may be the sensible lot should try their best to save sanity with patience. be the change we want to see.

Those that advocate censorship try to impose it by "might". Might will translate into position of power influenced muscle and /or money, which is generally "state" and those that run it.

Change only comes when those that never held power also wield power. No Censorship helps with that part.
