lingayats seers are organising protests against caste census and consolidating them too ..their votes might go to bjp-jds alliance

i used to think siddaramaiah is smart politically, but to impress rahul and save his cm chair, he is implementing his dumb pet concept i.e caste census

Most vokkaligas don't have reservation.i think only rural people can avail benefits and some small minority vokkaliga subcastes.

In telugu states , openly discussing about caste should be prohibited and looked down upon ,only then slowly caste will die out in mainstream media and politics.

For temporary benefits it's good to have numbers from each caste and their status to have a deeper understanding of society and to give targeted schemes to uplift backward sections so that they won't be discriminated against by affluent sections .

Problem is this is a shithole country and I am pretty sure nothing will be done correctly and doing these things will just increase discrimination.
