human1234 Posted April 17 Report Posted April 17 Laid Off and Angry I’m so incredibly angry about getting laid off. My employer seems to have targeted older employees. Almost everyone who has been shown the door is 50 +. Some only had a few years left before retirement. I had 7 consecutive years of “Exceeds Expectations” performance reviews and maximum performance bonuses. And just like that - I’m out at 59. I’m sick to my stomach every day since it happened. So let my situation be a cautionary tale. You can’t trust anyone. https://www.reddit.com/r/Layoffs/s/ILnVVOUBP1 Quote

This means that to receive the full amount of their retirement benefit, they need to wait until they turn 67. From age 62 you can still receive social security benefits, but at probably less than 40% you get at age 67... 1 Quote
