I want to invest in India moving funds from US and then bring them back after say 5 years

how easy is it? is there any source I can get the full info on it?

Say if I invest 30L and make a 20L profit after 5 years...i am trying to understand the tax implication will be and what will be final return after taxes

Only invest in if you want diversification in indian realestate or for having some safe backup for future. In all other cases you wont get anything back and lot of hassle. No one will buy realestate from a private person using white money. In worst case use them for kids education in india like medicine. Invest in vomerica if you dont have plans to go back.

Ela vayya. 50 to 100% white ayithe you will pay 30% tax. And count depreciation and you will make nothing

It is an ideal situation but you also need to consider dynamic situation. Oka 10-15% $ appreciate avuthe niku migile a 20-25% lo kuda sagam egiripotadi…apudu migiledi meagre amount and a amount kosam intha katha nadipiyadam waste kada…time and resources waste and ave money ikada petukunte you probably get a bit more.

But then again, indaka seppina kada…there are other ways to bring money in smaller fractions where you can bring without much taxes and charges.

PM me know the other ways uncle...i am trying to explore what my options are

I thought you knew this already. But you were mistaken!

Remit to NRE to NRO fine.

you cant get funds to NRE directly. you cant even transfer funds from your NRO to your NRE. you know that right. How come you simply get back the invested/profit/ funds back to NRE just like that?

USA to NRE and NRE to USA only possible. NRE to NRO ok. NRO to NRE not ok.
