India vs Pakistan Military Comparison (2025)
Overall Military Strength

India is ranked 4th globally in military power, while Pakistan is ranked 12th.

The military balance is heavily tilted in India's favor in terms of personnel, budget, technology, and conventional forces.

Personnel

India: ~1.46 million active personnel, 1.15 million in reserve, and 2.5 million paramilitary.

Pakistan: ~654,000 active personnel, 500,000 paramilitary.

Defense Budget

India: ~$79 billion (2025–26).

Pakistan: ~$7.6 billion.

This large budget gap allows India greater procurement, modernization, and maintenance capabilities.

Ground Forces

India: ~4,201 tanks, including advanced T-90 and Arjun models; over 148,000 armored vehicles.

Pakistan: ~2,627 tanks; significantly fewer armored vehicles.

Air Power

India: Modern air force with Rafale, Su-30MKI, and Tejas fighters.

Pakistan: JF-17 Thunder, F-16s, and other capable aircraft, but a smaller fleet.

Naval Power

India: Larger, more advanced navy with an aircraft carrier, nuclear submarines, and a diverse fleet.

Pakistan: Smaller navy, focused on coastal defense and submarines.

Nuclear and Missile Capabilities

Both possess nuclear arsenals and ballistic missiles.

India’s Agni-V missile exceeds 5,200 km range; Pakistan’s Shaheen-III reaches about 2,750 km, with efforts to extend range.

Doctrine and Organization

India is modernizing its military structure, focusing on joint commands and indigenous defense production.

Pakistan’s military is highly centralized, politicized, and maintains strong control over national security policy.

Strategic Context

Both nations rely on nuclear deterrence to prevent large-scale conflict.

India’s military is larger and more modern, but Pakistan’s centralized command and focus on rapid decision-making can offer operational advantages

Pina China undi ga unlimited supply ki. Pakis eppudu beggar country ne, US aid ani vallu free ga icharu. Ipudu China istadi.

Terrain is also tough to occupy and hold it even if it's occupied. If we strategic points we need to keep it but malli peace anagane back ipotam.

Key is our relationship with China, that's what we have to deal with from east, north and west. There should be talks with them every month to solve the issues but no one even talks about it.
