lol... PVR Turns Movie Night into a Food Court Fiasco

I need to vent about something that happened today at PVR Nexus Mall, Koramangala, Bangalore while watching the Malayalam movie Thudarum. First off, the movie itself was exceptional—gripping storyline, amazing performances, and totally worth watching if you’re into regional cinema. But PVR’s service completely ruined the experience, and I’m wondering if others feel the same! Here’s what went down: In the middle of intense scenes, PVR staff were serving food orders right in the theater. People were buying snacks, paying, and the service staff were literally blocking the screen while moving around with trays and taking payments. It was so distracting! Every time someone ordered popcorn or a drink, the staff would walk in front of the screen, breaking the immersion. This happened multiple times during the movie, and it was infuriating. 😡Is this what movie-going has come to? I get that theaters need to make money, but is selling overpriced food their main revenue source now? It feels like they care more about pushing snacks than ensuring a good cinematic experience. If PVR, one of the biggest cinema chains in India, is doing this, how are we supposed to enjoy movies in theaters? I’d rather wait for OTT releases at this point.I did a quick check online, and PVR’s parent company, PVR INOX Ltd, has been focusing heavily on food and beverage (F&B) sales in their recent financial reports. Their share price (around ₹1,650 as of last close, based on NSE data) reflects investor confidence, but are they prioritizing profits over movie lovers? Their quarterly reports show F&B contributing significantly to revenue, sometimes even outpacing ticket sales. Is this why they’re turning theaters into food courts? 🤔

I have read food prices in these theatres are crazy. But the experience user shared is horrible. I would not visit them again.

Trend is that ppl got used to OTTs even in india
