Telugu community aa? What's that? Telugu is a lingual group, NOT a community. Indian parlance lo caste and community ni synonymous ga vadatharu. Look up any matrimonial ads, they use "community" for caste. They don't use Telugu community or kannada community or North Indian community. Don't confuse it North American use of "community".

 there are no castes in south india ,there are only communities i.e jaathi in south india.

For caste to exist you need a social hierarchy system like Varna system which doesn't exist in south india.

Varna system is related to Hinduism , not jaati.

Although in present day both are used interchangeably but shouldn't be used.
