Why is losing a jet such big deal?

If not in operations, what are they for? Rust and scrap sitting idle?

I will prefer losing them in operations rather than falling from skies during peace time or drills or accidents.

losing only one jet each time we fire missiles on Pakistan, that’s a good deal for us. At this rate, we can make 36 attacks and lose 36 jets. We can buy more if we need them.

Jet can come down for many reasons, even if the news is true, it’s not big thing to worry about, what matters is mission objectives

Rafale will be produced in India eventually for navy and Air Force. we can add 20 each year to our forces, don’t worry about losing stupid jets. It’s like IT coolies worrying about broken keyboard or mouse while doing IT coolie job.

French are corrupt b@$t@rD$ next only to Anglosaxons. 

You can get better planes from Swedish. Gripens are very good interceptors and you can get 3 birds for the price of one Rafale. 

Numbers alone will over come the any shortcomings. What more you make them in India as Swedes are willing to do that.

That is about Rs20 per Indian citizen 

Compare it to lost productivity of the country each time a terrorist attack happens inside the country. Just the stock market loses billions during those incidents
