Rent-A-Car - Zoomcar is very popular. But pretty expensive. My neighbor checked for me, and it came to >1 Lakh for 1 month. I haven't checked much. I would rather use Uber. You can reserve for 2, 4, or 8 hrs, and the price comes pretty cheap compared to a 1-day rent of a car. So its better. 

Restaurants - I haven't tried much. Usha Mulpuri Kitchen has very good reviews. I tried the Gongura Chicken Pulav. It's good. It's more or less like Gongura roti pachadi and chicken. We have our usual spot, but not for families. Urvashi Bar and Restaurant in Begumpet (lane beside the Begumpet airport lane). Pretty much all their food is outstanding. The best I ever ate. Their Mutton biryani and Chilli paneer are highlights. The rest items are good too. Try if they are on Swiggy.

Places - The usual. If you are into temples, check out the Puri Jagannath temple. Sri Venkateshwara Swamy Temple TTD  Jubilee Hills. A visit or drive around Madhapur, Hi-Tech City is a must. Keep Qualcomm as the address and drive around it. Check out Financial city and around too. You can check out the Inorbit Mall nearby. ANB and Forum malls are good too. 

I have heard multiplexes are good. AMB is good, but a lot of new ones have come up. Check out the ones near your place. It's a good experience. Get ready to be shocked by the food prices, though.

I thoroughly enjoyed Taj Mahal. Been there 3 times. If you go there, make sure you take a guided tour. Do not be tempted to buy any Marble crap they try to sell there. Very recently a couple of my friends took Golden Traingle from Southern Tours and Travels and it was excellent experience for them. There are different packages. Call them to find details. Alternatively you can try Shimla-Kulu-Manali Package too.

Munnar and Cochin is another experience. We loved every bit of it. Its been a while since we went there. Amazing food, scenery and try boat house and stay overnight. Backwaters trip in cochin and some local trips. Munnar is a typical hill station. We went around a bit but don't remember the place names. Its a must see too.
