My husband's friend was arrested by ICE last night in Georgia. He's Canadian by birth and has been living in the United States on a green card since he was 14. He is now 40. He has an American son and is divorced from an American wife. I don't have many other details.

What might happen to him? How can we help? Could they release him once they realize he's on a green card?

Can his family get a lawyer to help him?

Edit: I am not in America, i came here with an honest question asking for help. I don't know why so many are saying this is bullshit or a lie. I don't know where to start or how to help my husband help his friend. Thank you to everyone that has given us some tips and information. I have shared it with his family.
