Am 3 yra away from elder one to go college and 5 yrs younger one to go college.. Wondering how to retire in India with usc and maintain low cost retirement India and also balance life between India and usa I want to be available for kids long summer breaks but otherwise wanted to live in India most time like 8 to 9 months

Not looking to buy apartment or house just basic renting and wife and husband probably in secondary just peaceful living may be small guest professor type occasional type or some noble work like teaching and help under privileged kids I want to spend life.. Planning as timeline is just 5 yrs max

Just wanted to hear seniors experience if anyone retired like that in india

If you are staying longer here, then it will be very challenging to settle in India. My uncle tried that path after kids passed out of college. But they returned back after 2 years. Main reason not many friends and banduvulu keep asking money.

first help your kids till they get settled .. another 10 yrs timeline ..assuming they finish their college.  Charity and offering your time for noble cause.. can be done here also.

One and only Strong Point to live in India for a few years ( being   a citizen) . is to serve oldage parents otherwise.. it is all BS.. sooner you realise the better it is

India for retirement aney brama lo chaala mandhi vunnaru .. thappuledhu

It's not even possible after kids marriage, endukante old parents need support from their children, emotional support, physical support in some cases.

If you have enough savings or passive income where you can pay for the expenses of your kids while living in India, fly back and forth from India to USA like 4 to 5 times an year then yes. One of my uncles moved back to Hyderabad, one of his daughters is in college and the son is graduating from college this year. He travels to USA 3 to 4 times an year and the kids visit them in India in the summer. He has good savings and quite a few real estate investments in USA and India so he is able to manage that.
