Playing devils advocate on Bangladesh issue

Why are we giving protection to Sheikh Haseena. She is a very unpopular leader. Her govt was toppled by locales.

What benefit do we get for protecting a fugitive? Other than pissing off the mullah Bangladeshis.

It appears like we are creating another enemy in our backyard.

Can some one logically justify this move by our Govt?

Political asylum….Her father was the closest ally of India-Bangla. Politically it’s very important to have her and her ideologue on our side. She is ousted now but Awami league is still a force and has life left. When normaly restores and interim govt paves way for a democratically elected govt, This step will play a crucial role.

What choice you have?

If india doesn't give asyulum

China may give

Sri Lanka may give

Instead of khaleda zia party and Mohammed Yunus ( two radical Islamists) ,shiekh Hasina is better for Hindus in Bangladesh

Khaleda zia ruling Apudu Hindus are killed in large numbers

Is this move worth it? If she is so unpopular why should we risk facing the wrath of local Bangladeshis. It feels like we are putting too much stock on her political comeback. What if it doesn’t transpire that way.

The current Govt in Bangladesh is Pro-china and Pro-pak , Even if India decides to send her to Bangladesh it won't help politically.

But aiding her right now might help in the long run.

Hopefully this work out as planned. Otherwise it will be an another poisonous snake in our backyard aka Bangladesh.

Unlike pakis, these mfs are financially as well as population wise doing good. Slowly, China will equip them with missles and possible nukes if needed.

There is nothing like popular/unpopular. Its worth. We cannot directly involve ourself within the internal matters of Bangladesh and need to have a partner and Awami is the partner. Shuffle is happening in Bangla and existing supporters may find shelter in other camps but when things settle down, these are the same voices we will need then…

Nawaf Sharif was ousted and expelled, from most popular to disgrace, He still has command over Pakistan Politics. This is nothing new for islamic republics.

I think India should simply annex Bangladesh. It has claim to the land.  It's easier to deal with Islamic extremism and Hindu genocide when Bangladesh becomes a part of India. India gets the tax revenue and infrastructure and expand the market and access to resources.

People like Hassina will be of better use then.
