They dont have expertise to do that as they dont do lateral hiring of experts. They hire only fresh grads and they grow in the org like a frog in a well. All what HAL does is assembly and testing. Even the smallest HAL helicopter cheetah was built under license from french company. All these new projects outcome will be nothing just to create some buzz. anduke adugtunna...ela start cheyali ani. Quote

Buy from external companies until HAL is capable of doing it on their own. Or pay external companies like dassault and get their consulting support like dassault consultants did the tejas design. Sinthakai Posted May 27 Report Posted May 27 I may be wrong, but it looks like BJP wants to inject Adani into this sector somehow and this is why they let HAL get so bad, that the nation wouldn't oppose when the govt starts paying millions in the name of defence, to Adani. When SAAB agreed to open a production line locally AND to do a technology transfer, we didn't go for it and now it is too late. Quote

Without consulting support they go no where. Tejas aerodynamic model designed by dassault consultants then sanctions the project kept sucking money with little to no progress, then changed decision to use GE engines. For Tejas Mk2 they are planning safran partnership. Without a partner trusting HAL will be a dead investment. 1 Quote
