Air India Delivers 1,000 Tonnes of Mangoes Across the Globe

In April 2025 alone, it transported nearly 1,000 tonnes of mangoes—primarily Alphonso, Safeda, and Dussehri varieties—from Western and Northern India to 43 destinations in 31 countries. 

 

GURUGRAM- Tata Group-owned Air India (AI) has successfully transported 1,000 tonnes of fresh Indian mangoes from India (BOM) to major cities across Europe (FRA), North America (JFK, YYZ, SFO), and the Middle East (DXB) during April 2025.

The airline’s efficient cargo operations and upgraded cold-chain logistics played a pivotal role in delivering this seasonal perishable from India’s farms to global markets with freshness intact.

Air India, the flag carrier of India, has emerged as a key player in global perishable logistics, especially during the mango season. 

 

In April 2025 alone, it transported nearly 1,000 tonnes of mangoes—primarily Alphonso, Safeda, and Dussehri varieties—from Western and Northern India to 43 destinations in 31 countries.

These included high-demand cities such as New York (JFK), London (LHR), Frankfurt (FRA), Toronto (YYZ), San Francisco (SFO), Tokyo (NRT), and Sydney (SYD).

This surge in mango exports is part of a broader increase in Air India’s perishable cargo segment. The airline has strategically invested in temperature-controlled infrastructure, automated handling systems, and partnerships with certified exporters to ensure quality control throughout the supply chain.
