How BJP struggles to take credit and ends up getting trolled

One thing BJP consistently struggles with is taking credit the right way. An example.

During Russia-Ukraine war, Modi actually managed to pause the conflict briefly to evacuate Indians, a major diplomatic win no doubt. But instead of a crisp 2-3 minute documentary or real student testimony, BJP opted for a dramatic ad featuring an actor crying hysterically, "Modiji ne war rukwa di, papa." The outcome was no real PR gain, just endless trolling that still hasn’t stopped.

Now, the same risk is looming with Op Sindoor. It was a clear success. The govt deserves the credit because the forces were always capable; what was missing earlier was administrative will, which Modi provided. People saw it, they understand who made it happen, and they appreciate it. The credit is already yours.

But now, a month-long Sindoor Yatra is being planned from 09 June; workers will go house to house to distribute Sindoor. Only those who are already hardcore BJP voters will appreciate this. For others, this turns a serious achievement into a gimmick.

BJP does the hard work but then fumbles the messaging. Such kinds of events would have been relevant in the pre-social media era when many people would not be aware of what happened. Now everyone has a phone, social media, and real-time knowledge. They know.
