Why India lost fighter jets if they launched missiles from indian air space ?

In Oct 2024, 100 Israeli fighter jets flew 2,000 km & targeted over 20 sites in Iran in 3 waves. Not a single Israeli jet was lost in the operation.
How, then, did India lose fighter jets to Pakistan, even though its aircraft were firing missiles from within Indian airspace?

Did not he admit that it was a tactical mistake and they learnt from it quick? Insinuating that they did not lose any jets after. So, a mistake costed India. Its not the first time, Israel has done such operations a few times. They even struck Iraq's suspected nuclear facilities too, in Operation Desert Storm. They flew very low, so low that the radar couldn't pick them up. and more over being a desert and jets flew over nonpopulated regions, interception became tough.

India's situation is different, because of our geographical challenges, such an operation is not quite possible.

1. Iran is under sanctions for a long time . It doesn’t have advanced tech like awacs that Pak got and integrated with f16 and jf17. 
 

2. long range bvr missiles that Pak got from China 

3. surprise element, Pak was expecting India to attack and had 15 days to prepare. Ask Israel to give  Iran 15 days to prepare and see how many Israeli jets will be down.

4.  Pak Air Force is trained on F16 by US Air Force. Iran got old Russian jets flying coffins and pilots probably are not well trained.
