Exactly. Don't settle down. Treat corporations like prostitutes.

Current job basic comfort zone, wfh, don’t have to start GC process from the start. Cons - work thaggindhi because of offshore, last 2-3 years nunchi year end lo huge layoffs going on. We lost many people within our team.

new job…konchem pay ekkuva, have reputation that they don’t do layoffs. Cons - GC malli first nunchi start cheyyali. 2015 priority date. Hybrid model…no wfh

Meeku inka 10+ years of working life unte - definitely go to Costco.

They have a great retention culture but work is not going to be light. In some aspects thats a good thing. Also 20K base pay increase + benefits improvement (401k, PTO, holidays etc.) is a big change wealth wise. You wont be super rich but you will see some wealth in 401k and all.

2015 date kabatti - chances of being current in the next 3y are very very very less. So thats not a huge deal breaker except for the resumption of GC paperwork again. This could be a thing you can negotiate to start asap or work with manager to expedite once onboard.

FTE & GC restart vaddu ra bvabu ante - switch contracts or start 2nd job so that 1st job peekithe you are not at cross roads. Good luck!

You are in Infra and i think you might be that much busy during the season's except some one fiddles with systems by applying untested patches. So you would be good. During the initial phases it is normal to ask people  come to office for 3 days a week. Once your work is established then you can see the difference. Unless your skills are very very bad chances of laying off is very less. If you are looking for stability then go for it...

I got a FT offer that’s about 20k more than my current FT position. Is it worth to move? Heard job safety is good. Any pros and cons?

Anna, naa situation chepta vinu,

neeku lage slight increase vasthe similar tier company no cheppa as I expected hike will mostly match that amount if I wait a few months, cut chesthe maa company lo full layoffs every few months now, I slightly regret it now as it was a good company and they asked me several times but feel kind of justified in my decision as they were firm on the comp and did not budge and my sal is more or less what they offered me

anyway, what I wanted to tell is that you have to make a decision to as per your current situation and what you feel is right at the moment, regret etc unte undani but you have to deal with it as you move forward, its just life anthe, make a decision that you think will make your life easier

there will always be pros and cons when you compare slightly better offers, If it was a significantly better offer then you probably would not have asked this question and would have made a decision to go (ex: > 100k offer) , would suggest to explore more companies and interview for better offers to get leverage even if you want to proceed with this offer

If your company is not doing well and been doing layoffs, don’t assume that you are immune to it. People who make the decisions well above the pay grade of your manager. They might not even know your name or do care how good you are. Just numbers game for them and don’t care how loyal, experienced, and good you are.

Despite the slow economy, you are able to interview and land a job. If you are confident of finding another job if they let you go, stay there. Otherwise take the offer with Costco and you will do fine.

Talk to your partner, (and close friends) and decide. Good luck.

Thanks bro. Ya that’s 100% true. When it comes to numbers they don’t care. Ekkuva matladitey ma manager ne lepeyocchu who knows. I’ll have to answer them by the weekend. Thanks again
