Pratik Joshi had been living in London for the past six years. A software professional by background, Joshi had long envisioned building a future abroad for his wife and three young children. That vision was finally becoming reality this week, but fate intervened with cruel finality.

Onboard the ill-fated flight with Pratik was his wife, Dr Komi Vyas, a medical professional who had tendered her resignation just two days earlier to prepare for their permanent move. Their three children, including five-year-old twin daughters, were accompanying them on the journey.
