So, what is unique with that? There are many F1s and H1s who need to travel on business. As many suggested, this seems to be an issue with your manager but nothing unique and odd about your case. When necessities arise due to business needs, employer should take care of them. As simple as that. You are working on an 'Employment' based visa, not on a personal visa for you to book your personal legs and for them to force you to book your family's tickets on their portal.

I have a business travel to Asia and H1-B expired. Attorney applied for H1-B Renewal and mostly will receive the approval this month.

Certainly I have to go for dropbox in India as attorney recommended home country. Company asked me to pay for the extra leg to India and I agreed as it is fair. I am also taking care of my wife and 2 infants expenses and flight tickets which is obvious.

The question is company wants me to book everybody's travel through company travel website. The travel website is expensive and have terrible flight with bad connections. I asked if I can book myself and submit for just myself(technically cheaper than company travel website). Manager gaadu you will have to book through company travel portal as we get negotiated price ani saava minguthunnadu. Also hotel kuda cheap di book cheyyi ani saava dobbing. Inko comedy entante during dropbox while in India they want me to use Personal time off instead of remote work.

Finally I said I will saving to $3400 USD + my 2 weeks of vacation by avoiding this business trip. Also asked company to figure out the strategy and let me know if they want me to travel or not ani. Is this common in corporate and anybody has such experience.  Never experienced this before. Idi $0.5T company malli.

Very tricky. I have an idea but not sure if it works. Don’t tell you’re taking your family. Just book yours with company portal. Mottham family including yourself book again with travel protection. Cancel yours and show airlines your other reservation to support your infant. So ika travel protection bokka avutundhi max

No baa.

I would rather not travel and keep the trust. Appreciate the idea though.

Both prices screenshot teesi pampiyyu…ur travel has to be approved by accounting. If thy approve, no issues. Manager approval is only for business needs, he should nit care about how you travel, but accounting do. There will be exceptions always and check with accounting. I do it all the time with my employer. Obv, depends on the company policy and how strict they are about adhering to the policy.

I was thinking to isolate family bookings with mine but I need to have 2 adults to accommodate 2 infants on Itinerary.

Then go directly to India with family and go from there.. Adi easy kadaa.. ask them to provide tickets to and from India to your business location..

gap lo visa stamping chuskovachu

The caveat is I am draining my pockets because of business travel. There are two options me travelling and not travelling.

Travelling -> I need to pay for partial flight fare because of extra flight to India, pay for my family and drain 2 weeks of personal vacation time while waiting for my passport after dropbox. On top of that I cannot even book for family separate since I have two infants and need two adults to book tickets for them.  Overall $3500+ 2 weeks bokka. On top of that company portal lo book chesthe family ki nenu bankrupt avutha. Not-Travelling -> I save all of the above.

My question iswhat does others do when they need visa to reenter while on business travel.

others in your situationi..travel alone..leave the family behind.. you can travel with them in the near future (considering all the comfortable economics).

Travel alone and get the reimbursements or let company pay for the expenses.. no headache..

Saying no for the business travel at the last minute (at this hour, after going through some hassle) doesn't look good on your part

If it is me I will do this

1. company website lo business trip + hotel accomodation in ASIA book cheyie for entire family

2. ASIA location to India round trip ticket, you can book for your entire family wherever you want to get it for cheaper price.

3. While in india i know companies which ask you take personal time off instead of giving remove work options. Which is fair according to their BCG.
