Edward Snowden is born American. That's didn't stop US from revoking his citizenship. He was forced to take refugee in Russia.

Also snowden didn't just criticize US government.

He leaked classified information that could have endangered US intelligence assets.

If you talk of Semantics part, then his passport was revoked. What classified information? That governments are resorting to treason against their own citizens? Creating a surveillance state?
