An Infosys employee has been arrested for allegedly filming more than 30 videos of different females in the restroom of the Bengaluru campus of the company. The employee has been identified as 28-year-old Swapnil Nagesh Mali from Andhra Pradesh, News18 has reported.

The incident came to light when on June 30, a female employee of the Electronic City campus of Infosys noticed a reflection on the opposite side, standing on the commode of the adjacent cubicle, while using the restroom and found out that someone was indeed recording her.

She initially saw only herself in the reflection but when she further checked inside the washroom, she found that the accused was attempting to record her with his mobile phone. The woman then screamed which led the man to apologise to her.

The company employees rushed to the spot after the female employee raised the alarm and caught the accused as he tried to flee. During a preliminary check, HR personnel reportedly found a video of the complainant on his phone. A screenshot was taken before the video was deleted. The HR personnel further found over 30 videos of different females on the accused's phone.

The matter caught further attention when the complainant discussed the incident with her husband, who then insisted on legal action. The female employee subsequently filed a police complaint on July 1. Based on her statement, Electronics City police arrested Mali under relevant sections of the IPC and IT Act.

The complainant has alleged that Infosys initially tried to resolve the issue internally by obtaining an apology from the accused. Police are probing whether the company failed to report the incident immediately.

Bengaluru techie caught red-handed filming female colleagues in washroom

The Bengaluru police said he had recorded two videos, and have sent his mobile phone to FSL for a details analysis.

The Electronics City police on Wednesday (July 2, 2025) arrested a 30-year-old software engineer for allegedly filming his female colleagues in the Infosys campus washroom on Monday (June 30).

Based on the complaint filed by the victim, the police arrested Swapnil Nagesh, a technical analyst, charging him under section 66e (violation of privacy through the capturing, publishing, or transmitting of images of a private area of a person without their consent) and Section 77 (offense of voyeurism) for further investigation.

 

The incident came to light when the victim, working as a technical test lead at Infosys, went to use the washroom on June 30, 2025. While waiting to use the washroom, she saw a girl coming out of a cubicle and caught a man’s reflection in the mirror, filming from the adjacent washroom.

She climbed up the commode and allegedly caught him red-handed trying to record her too on his mobile phone. She raised alarm and ran out of the washroom, prompting the staff to come to her rescue.

The HR staff caught the man and deleted the videos. The victim went home and narrated her ordeal to her family before approaching the police.

Based on the complaint, the police tracked down Swapnil. The accused, according to the police, joined the company three months ago. He had recorded two videos, which the police retrieved from the ‘Deleted’ folder. The mobile has been sent to FSL for a detailed analysis, a police officer said.

This incident has raised serious concerns about workplace safety and privacy, prompting calls for stricter monitoring and enforcement within corporate campuses.

Bengaluru Infosys Employee Arrested For Filming Women In Campus Toilet At Electronic City

An employee of tech giant Infosys have been arrested for allegedly secretly recording obscene videos of female colleagues in the restroom of the company’s campus in Bengaluru.

The accused has been identified as Swapnil Nagesh Mali (28), who hails from Andhra Pradesh and was a Senior Associate consultant at the Helix unit of Infosys.

The incident took place in building 38, the IQE wing of the Infosys campus, around 11 am on June 30. However, it came to light when a female employee of the Electronic City campus noticed a reflection on the opposite door while she was in the restroom, revealing someone was recording her.

Upon immediate investigation, she initially saw only herself, but a further check inside the restroom led her to discover the accused attempting to record with his mobile phone. The woman immediately screamed, prompting the accused to apologise.

The Infosys HR personnel investigated the matter and allegedly found over 30 videos of different women on his phone.

The situation escalated when the victim’s husband learned of the incident and confronted Infosys, expressing his outrage.

Infosys fires employee for misconduct; says zero tolerance for any form of harassment

Information technology (IT) giant Infosys has terminated an employee for filming videos of a woman in a restroom on its Bengaluru campus. The company said it has zero tolerance for any form of harassment.

The employee, identified as 28-year-old Swapnil Nagesh Mali from Andhra Pradesh, was found to have over 30 obscene videos of different women on his phone.

"We are aware of this incident and have taken necessary action against the employee, who is now separated from the Company. We also promptly supported the complainant by facilitating a swift complaint with the law enforcement authorities and continue to cooperate as they investigate further. Infosys is committed to providing an environment free of harassment and has a zero-tolerance policy. We take every complaint related to any violation of the Company's Code of Conduct seriously," the company said in a statement.
