Popular Telugu actor Fish Venkat, renowned for his comedic roles and distinctive Telangana accent, passed away on July 18, 2025, following complications from severe kidney and liver failure.

Born Venkat Raj, the actor had been undergoing regular dialysis for several months and was recently placed on a ventilator as his condition rapidly declined.

His daughter, Shravanthi, had previously appealed for financial assistance, revealing that a kidney transplant estimated at ₹50 lakh was urgently required.

While social media circulated false reports that actor Prabhas had stepped in to help, the family later clarified that those claims were part of a scam.

Nonetheless, several members of the film industry—including actors Pawan Kalyan and Vishwak Sen, along with a Telangana government minister—offered financial aid.

Despite continued medical treatment and public appeals, a suitable kidney donor could not be found in time, and his health worsened.

తెలుగు సినీ పరిశ్రమలో ప్రముఖ హాస్యనటుడు, చిన్న విలన్ పాత్రలతో గుర్తింపు పొందిన ఫిష్ వెంకట్ (వెంకట్ రాజ్) అనారోగ్యంతో కన్నుమూశారు. నేడు (జులై 18) హైదరాబాద్‌లోని ఒక ప్రైవేట్ ఆసుపత్రిలో ఆయన తుదిశ్వాస విడిచారు. ఫిష్ వెంకట్ వయసు 53 సంవత్సరాలు. గత కొంతకాలంగా ఆయన రెండు కిడ్నీలు పాడవడంతో తీవ్ర అనారోగ్యంతో బాధపడుతున్నారు. డయాలసిస్ చేయించుకుంటూ చికిత్స పొందుతున్న ఆయన పరిస్థితి ఇటీవల విషమించడంతో వెంటిలేటర్‌పై ఉంచారు. అయినప్పటికీ, వైద్యుల ప్రయత్నాలు ఫలించలేదు.

ఫిష్ వెంకట్ తెలంగాణ యాసలో మాట్లాడే ప్రత్యేక శైలి, కామెడీ టైమింగ్‌తో ప్రేక్షకులను ఆకట్టుకున్నారు. హైదరాబాద్‌లో జన్మించిన ఆయన 2000వ దశకంలో 'ఖుషి'సినిమాతో తెలుగు సినీ రంగంలోకి అడుగుపెట్టారు. ఆది, బన్నీ, అదుర్స్, గబ్బర్ సింగ్, డీజే టిల్లు వంటి ఎన్నో చిత్రాల్లో ఆయన నటన ప్రేక్షకులను అలరించింది. కామెడీ పాత్రలతో పాటు, విలన్ పాత్రల్లోనూ తనదైన ముద్ర వేశారు. ఆయన కొంతకాలం కిందట నటించిన 'స్లమ్ డాగ్ హస్బెండ్', 'నరకాసుర', 'కాఫీ విత్ ఎ కిల్లర్' కూడా ప్రేక్షకుల దృష్టిని ఆకర్షించాయి.

గత తొమ్మిది నెలలుగా కిడ్నీ వైఫల్యంతో బాధపడుతున్న ఫిష్ వెంకట్‌కు కిడ్నీ మార్పిడి అవసరమని వైద్యులు తెలిపారు. ఈ ఆపరేషన్‌కు సుమారు రూ. 50 లక్షల ఖర్చు అవుతుందని, ఆర్థిక ఇబ్బందులతో కుటుంబం సహాయం కోరినట్లు ఆయన కుమార్తె స్రవంతి వెల్లడించారు. కొందరు ఆర్థిక సహాయం అందించినప్పటికీ, తగిన కిడ్నీ దాత కనిపించకపోవడం ప్రధాన సమస్యగా మారినట్టు వార్తలు వచ్చాయి.

ఫిష్ వెంకట్ భార్య సువర్ణ, కుమార్తె స్రవంతితో కలిసి హైదరాబాద్‌లో నివసిస్తున్నారు. ఆయన మరణంతో తెలుగు సినీ పరిశ్రమలో విషాద ఛాయలు అలుముకున్నాయి. అభిమానులు, సినీ ప్రముఖులు ఆయనకు నివాళులు అర్పిస్తూ, సోషల్ మీడియా వేదికలపై సంతాపం వ్యక్తం చేస్తున్నారు.

Ilanti actors ki screentime thakkuvaga undatam chetha - generally it is difficult to remember them in any particular role.

 

I loved his comedy in the scene below - especially his response to Pridhvi Raj's question " Nuvvu Mogali Rekulu serial lo Varudhini ni rape chesindi nuvvey kada?

Fish Venkat = "Endidi, perey noru tiruguthaledu,  rape edikelli chestham saar" lol.

 

Somehow the way he delivered that dialogue in his typical Telangana accent made it very funny.
