You have to anticipate how India is going to be 5 years from now.

Don't look at current India....look at all the data points of last 5 years and see where it is headed.

This simple change in thinking would make lot of decisions easier....will earn you many millions as well.

@krishnaaa bhayya what was the framework and thought process that you went through to make the decision of going back to India? Let me know pls

Very simple.

What are your major pain points that stops you from going back. Don't list 20. Just top 3.

For me it were

1. Air Pollution

2. People

3. Food Adulteration

Now see if these aspects have improved in the past 5 years..... from 2020-2025.

Let's take my top concern.... Air Pollution.

I have been tracking Electric Vehicles introduction and crackdown on older vehicles.

Compare EVs from 2021 to the most recent ones like Tata harrier ev and Mahindra be 6. Range has increased significantly and the cost has reduced as well. Still not enough.....we need affordable EVs....but we are getting there.

Tata Nexon ev launched in Jan 2020 has 300 km range(240 real world) and the starting price of 13.99 lakhs

https://www.overdrive.in/reviews/2020-tata-nexon-ev-first-drive-review/

Now take the 13.99 lakhs .... put it in compound interest calculator.....5.5 years with inflation at 8% average....it comes to 21.38 lakhs in today's money.

Compare this with the recent launch....Mahindra be6....launched in Nov 2024.....starting price is 18.9 lakhs with 557 kms range. And this vehicle is born electric unlike to 2020 Nexon ev which was just a battery that was put inside a body made for petrol engine.

Be6 also comes with BYD blade battery which charges much faster....can be charged 20-80% in 20 mins. And the quality is also much better.

https://www.konceptmahindra.com/mahindra-be-6/mahindra-be-6-pack-one.html

Imagine an ev in 2030.

Not only that....other sectors are adopting evs as well.

"Electric three-wheeler (e-3W) sales in India have experienced significant growth from 2020 to the present, with a notable surge in market share. In 2024, e-3Ws surpassed 1 million units in sales, representing nearly a quarter of all three-wheeler sales, according to the IEA. This growth is driven by factors like increasing consumer awareness, government incentives, and advancements in battery technology. "

Next important thing is charging infrastructure

"In early 2025, India had approximately 12,000 public EV charging stations, a significant increase from around 1,000 in 2020. This growth reflects a surge in EV adoption and substantial government and private investment in charging infrastructure. "

Imagine the number of charging stations in 2030.

Next is where would all this electricity come from?

Solar panel prices have come down when adjusted to inflation, government subsidies have added to it.

Compare the prices, trends and ease of installation from 2020 to 2025.

Power generation has been steadily going up....but we need lot more power....this might lead to increased energy bills....which should lead to more people adopting for solar.

I have got couple installations done and even earning some passive income from them. Quality and power output have increased quite a bit.

Lot of people don't realize till they see with their own eyes....but if you are able to utilize data....you can predict and plan ahead.

Don't forget that China went through the same. The headlines used to talk about dirtiest cities in China 5 years ago.....now they are talking about Indian cities....which means that Chinese cities are better now....and Indian cities are going to be better in 5 years.

I am not saying Indian cities would have zero pollution.....just that it will be lot better compared to now.

Apply the same logic to the other 2 as well and then you will get an accurate picture of India in 2030.

you seems to be a pragmatic person...I wish you the very best with your planned move! @krishnaaa
