Hello all

I am so stressed & panicked & worried!! All New Jersey Lawyers, please help me & guide me!

I had gone & voted in the early voting days of the General Election last November. Then my family was going to vote on Election Day so I was with them. We were talking & discussing with the poll workers of our district on how many people had similar names, & the uniqueness of our address. So while one person was helping my family member, the other person asked me if I was going to vote. I said I had already voted in the early voting. She said but it shows that I hadn’t voted! She even turned the screen towards me & showed me that i was eligible to vote! I was very confused & since it was already Election Day (so there were no more days left to call & find out & come back to vote) & I had read that the new machines were made to throw out duplicates, & I wanted my vote to be cast & counted, so I went & voted! In hindsight, I don’t even know why I did that since I didn’t like either of the candidates nor do I trust any politicians whatsoever!

We had a couple of cops stop by our house in April & May (total of 3 times)! We were not home either of the 3 times! The first time they had stopped, our Ring bell rang on my phone so I spoke with them over the Ring & they said that it’s nothing to worry about & they took my number saying that they will call before stopping by so that they don’t miss us again. I asked what it was regarding but they said they would rather talk in person with us. They never called before they came again the next 2 times! They left their card in between our storm door, which we found blown far away on our grass. We called them a few times & left messages but nobody called us back.

Now I got summons by Certified Mail to appear in Superior Court in 2 weeks as I’ve committed a 3rd degree crime of voting twice!!!! I am in so much panic & stress! I can’t eat, I can’t sleep, I can’t think what to do!!!! I just Googled - the fees & charges are beyond my means & capacity!! What should i do??? Please help!!!

Athani  mistake emi vundhi akkada.. polling officer nee vote padaledhu.. ani cheppindhi.. so second attempt chesadu. Eye opener for everyone ..in case.. better to skip in such technical issues rather than vote again. unnecessary tensions

india knowledge ni ikkada apply cheyakudadu.. once you voted, it does not matter whether it display proof or not. you cannot vote 2nd time and submit 2nd ballot. it is offensible felony. it will get you fine and prison. 

US lo neekante telivaina vallu untaru. that's why they get paid more than normal people. you cann't mess with law here. period.

nuvvu athi gaadivey ani oppukunta... adhey athi thelivi gaadivani..  offsencible felony ani telisthey vaadu vote enduku vestadu.. koncham vaadu .. I agree that everyone should  be made aware of this.. probably he might have forgotten that he cannot twice no matter what.  take it easy .. chimpukoku
