Tatah wants access to Indian dairy and food market. Rest is all theatrics.

That never gonna happen. See how many people livelihood is at stake. India should be firm in its decision and even should be vocal about this tariffs.

Russian Gas is just a guise. NATO EU countries can simply refuse to purchase any products with crude originating from Russia. They didn't do that though. Canada has ability to replace Russia as well. That didn't happen.

In reality Tatah is aiming for access for American Business to Indian dairy and food sectors to cut down trade deficits. I say Modi may be better off by opening doors to dairy and poultry and leave outcrops. A middle path, that would still benefit both sides.

I don't know if that would be a good idea. It may decimate small farmers and rural economy.

Poultry is no longer a small farmer business in India. Even dairy is the same. I feel consumers will get a good deal due to supply surplus.

This supply surplus of dairy won’t work well India , cause it’s a culture problem more than anything feel like lot  livelyhoods/politics/dailylife style run around these things . There will be lot of side effects if us flood the market with surplus

Indian exports to US is 2.4% of its total exports. aa chinna % kosam economy and janalni suffer cheskodu India. collateral is nris here....we end up paying more but thats ok. panikimalina pressure tactics by siding with pakis....hope modi wont budge for these tactics.

Why do you think it's only city people ? Imports can reach tier 2, tier 3 towns as well.

Mass poultry and dairy Producers are not really rural people. Most of them are around cities and semi urban areas.

Let consumers choose. Why outright ban?

@CanadianMaloduCanada banned US dairy product for some reason, AI edho chepthundi mari.

While some US dairy farmers use a synthetic growth hormone called rbST (recombinant bovine somatotropin) to increase milk production, authorities like the FDA have determined that milk from cows treated with rbST is safe for human consumption.

Here's why:
  • Naturally Occurring Hormones:
All milk, including milk from cows not treated with rbST, contains naturally occurring hormones.

  • Human Body Doesn't Recognize Cow Hormones:
The hormones found in cow's milk, including the synthetic rbST, are not active in the human body.

  • No Evidence of Harm:
Studies and regulatory bodies like the FDA have not found any conclusive evidence that rbST in milk has any adverse effects on human health.

  • Consumer Choice:
Many consumers prefer milk from cows not treated with rbST, and dairy companies offer these choices in response to consumer demand.

  • Canada's Ban:
Canada banned the use of rbST in 1999, not due to human health concerns, but due to animal welfare issues like increased risk of mastitis and lameness in cows.

north villages every household has cows and buffalos they dont buy milk and dairy products

yes tier2/3 towns consume but they get stuff from the milkman living in near by villages. if milk import become cheap it will hit rural ppl. As a capitalist I am for free trade and choice to people but political reality is different

Reason for dairy ban is usa can feed its cows even animal feed unless it is organic
