# No government, government department, or head of government can make a statement or furnish a map giving up its territorial claims. This weakens the nation's claims in the international arena and eventually results in a loss of territory.

Modi's habit of lying and portraying himself as strong has led to India's territorial loss of 1000 square kilometers to China.

According to The Hindu, China is estimated to have taken over close to 1,000 square kilometers of India-claimed territory in eastern Ladakh since May 2020. The Indian government’s response has been one of ‘disengagement’, timidity, playing it safe, and false posturing before its own citizens.

In June 2020, Modi told Indians that no one had entered Indian territory or captured any military post [\[2\]](https://timesofindia.indiatimes.com/india/neither-has-anyone-intruded-into-indian-territory-nor-has-anyone-taken-over-any-post-pm-modi/articleshow/76470868.cms). Col. Shukla and other Indian veterans strongly criticised the Indian Prime Minister’s statement of June 2020, when Narendra Modi said that there are no Chinese on Indian territory and never have been [\[3\]](https://www.business-standard.com/article/defence/defence-minister-rajnath-singh-speaks-to-us-on-china-s-lac-intrusion-120053000028_1.html), [\[4\]](https://thewire.in/security/karan-thapar-ajai-shukla-disengagement-china-india), [\[5\]](https://www.bbc.com/news/world-asia-57234024). This endorsement of the Chinese government's position allowed Beijing to dismiss the allegations of border transgressions and claim ownership of all its positions [\[4\]](https://thewire.in/security/karan-thapar-ajai-shukla-disengagement-china-india).

In January 2023, an official Indian research paper stated that India had lost access to 26 out of 65 Patrolling Points in eastern Ladakh since June 2020 [\[6\]](https://www.thehindu.com/news/national/india-has-lost-access-to-26-out-of-65-patrolling-points-in-eastern-ladakh-says-research-paper/article66428193.ece).

In February 2023, External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar said that India cannot pick a fight with China because the latter has a bigger economy. Following this military veterans have accused the Narendra Modi government of having a “defeatist attitude” and “bowing down to a bully” [\[7\]](https://thewire.in/security/veterans-criticise-jaishankar-china).

Problem is with the people....not the government.

An average Indian is dumb as a rock....has no personal responsibility.

You don't have to do too much.

You just have to look at win win situations which would benefit you as well as the country.

Simple things like installing solar panels would save you from current bills and is a major help to Indian economy. Govt is doing its part by providing subsidies.

But idiots keep blaming govt when there is a power cut or there is increase in current bill.

Another good example would be opting for an electric vehicle. Again here govt is doing its part by not taxing evs. This would lead to less money going outside India to import crude and be at the mercy of Soudis and Trump tariffs. The pollution issue would also greatly reduced.

Again here the idiots blame govt instead of taking action. I saw an idiot last week blaming govt for gas prices while he bought 2 gas guzzling SUVs each worth more than 50 lakhs.

People still throw trash on the roads and they say that sweepers will take care of it. Govt is spending so much money trying to keep surroundings clean.

When I go to parties, people always either gossip about other people or talk politics. Noone discusses ideas like how we can contribute etc. Unless this culture changes, the progress would be very slow.
