Car accident (parked vehicle )

Recommended Posts

Posted

Car parked on my driveway and somebody hit  the car back. Bumper broke down on the floor, trunk had dents , sensors and rear lights broken etc;

Collected other vehicle driver insurance details and contacted the geico claims teams.

my vehicle is 2025 Honda pilot , 6k miles and 10 months old only.
question:

1) how to proceed next steps? What questions shop I ask the geico insurance?

2) is my car value will decrease? Is there any records on my vehicle in future?

3) they will replace with factory products or just repair with existing ones?

what else should I think about and ask?

thanks

Since it’s not your fault. Other persons Insurance will fix it for you.

Sadly, your car will still lose its value drasticaly because it was in an accident. &nbsp

You can fight with insurance and get everything replaced. But in the end they will do what profits them the most.

Bottom line: It’s better if your car gets totaled in any accident. Especially when it’s not your fault. The bandaid work is useless.

Sorry.

first vaadi insurance vaaniki call chesi, mee insurer ila accident chesadu ani cheppu.

then they will tell you the process. usually they will come and check your car, or ask you to send pics, based on that they will estimate.

2) car value padadu id you make if repair with factory products.

3) usually insurance pay the money for factory products.

1. Call your ins claims and explain them the incident, they will guide you

2. Unfortunately yes, yes record would be there out listed as accident, this'd lower your car value a bit.

3. they will replace anything you want, so you'd go for original factory parts.

4. depending on your plan, you might end up paying deductible for now, since you're not at fault, they would return total deductible to you only after the whole case is resolved (takes about 6-12 months).

5. Keep records of any citations, make sure you're not at fault on the citation,

The accident would have been reported if not soon, to all Insurance companies, whenever you shift to a diff insurance provider, you'd have to explain about this whole incident and that you're not at fault,

Bro, if the car value is depreciated, claim that amount insurance will pay you. I saw one of my friend doing that. If you are not at fault and car value goes down they will pay you the depreciation amount.

Not on all the states .. its not mandatory for insurance companies to pay you for depreciation. Some rules changed recently but you can give it a try asking other insurance company

Yes, it will show on your carfax report and it will reduce your car value drastically.

Yes. Although it was 8 years ago .. they might have closed many loopholes since then.

How to calculate the car value before and after the accident

There are people who do DV appraisals, they will give you a DV appraisal report, you can submit it to the at-fault insurance and request for money. They take $200-$300 for preparing the report

Sadly there is no law that the insurance should oblige this, but you can give a try

I don’t think it works with all insurances. That’s a risk you take when you drive on roads. It’s better to get totaled. As I mentioned in prev post

Did you even call cops? It’s better to have a police report that others person is at fault.

It helps while claiming insurances. Otherwise insurance companies will take you for granted.

If its a desi spare him/her. It will be bad on their immigration record. Especially if the ticket is for reckless driving.
