It appears so because Ukraine is a pr0xy front for entire NATO. Russia has a net gain of territory from Ukraine (about 20% Ukraine itself) while Ukraine is drowned in DEBT (debt to GDP approaching 100%). 

Russia had a history to fighting till last man. Even under communist influence, they fought the best war machine the Hitler's forces, and beat them up while Anglo powers claim the victory. india is the most underdeveloped after sub Saharan nations and similar countries like pakistan ,Bangladesh.

SEA countries were worse than india after independence now their per capita is twice that of India. 

It's true for china as well but I am talking about SEA because if I bring up china you will say it's a dictatorship.

In the entire world only sub Saharan countries along with Pakistan and some war torn nations are worse than india.

In terms of technology yeah china will equal u.s in next 20 years but to gain the influence and power similar to u.s it will take some more time.

Lower research cost + massive government funding + large educated population in STEM.

China has a massive advantage of supply chain , everything is cheaper to manufacture in China and they can dominate trade in free market.

Power is not something, that you gain just like that. You need to usurp those that hold the power, to gain power. China with all it's numbers didn't have a single event of power projection beyond it's border, while NATO is a consolidation of Western military power. NATO and US were at this game for more long time, I'd say since WWI, and US took the Cover page after WWII.

Even Russia has the same experience, although post disintegration of Soviet Union it's limited to its own sphere of influence within bloc countries, and of course  still has the might to influence countries such as India.

China's maximum influence thus far has only been through debt, mimicking the Z10n1st banking model except on a much smaller scale and on smaller nations. This doesn't equal power at all.

India's development slowed down because of Govt.'s mindless policies, with constant effort to make a cheap labour service center for West instead of pushing for high value driven products and services. It's only compounded by needless taxation that burdens it's middle class. 

Moslems are being given needless subsidies, less enforcement and separate laws that favour them a lot while straining exchqeuer. Wrt. women, until about a generation or two ago most women did the same in India. Infact women empowerment itself is Z10n1st idea pushed by Rockefellers, and WEF. If any it displaces men from Workforce through imposition of affirmative actions (aka unspoken reservation). It also takes away women's time with her family and babies. 

You yourself sit in the US and are likely to stay here, meaning in less than two generations your progeny (if you have any) will not even learn how to read and write Telugu, and are likely to stay alien to it due to peer pressure to assimilate and here you're worrying about Culture part.

Telugus are addicted to movies because they pretty much don't have much do or they weren't taught pretty much anything so they simply spent time on this entertainment.

Avg. Telugu family:

1. study hard till 10th class.

2. Join Narayana/CHAITANYA and eat f00d worse than in jail and live in $h1ttier rooms than War prisons and prepare for mass market tests

3. 4 years of h0stel life for a supposedly  Btech degree, which holds near zero value for majority of them

4. Join bottom end service tech companies. 

Rinse repeat the same process for every generation.

China's influence is through trade ,they are an irreplaceable trading partner to many countries.its not possible for any country in current age to emulate the same model because of population constraints and red tape.

Influence through trade doesn't replace Power. Power in that sense is absolute. The conquerors or the forces behind them dictate the terms. It's plain and simple.

China's trade surplus with West exists because West allowed it and continues to allow it while squeezing itself with red tape and taxation. They have the means to disengage with China, when they really need to. Why do other countries need to emulate Chinese model ? For what?
