andhra_jp Posted August 13 Report Posted August 13 'An absolute disgrace': Opposition objects as KBC set to host officers Vyomika Singh and Sofiya Qureshi; calls it 'unthinkable' Several X users also slammed the decision of the KBC makers. "This is just unbelievable. Operation Sindoor heroes appearing on national TV show KBC Just because one 'nationalist' party wants to milk some votes?" one user wrote. The new season of Kaun Banega Crorepati (KBC) dropped a new promo clip, showing that it will soon be hosting Colonel Sofiya Qureshi (Indian Army), Wing Commander Vyomika Singh (Indian Air Force), and Commander Prerna Deosthalee (Indian Navy), who became prominent faces during the Operation Sindoor briefings. After the new promo dropped, criticism poured in from all over, calling the episode unthinkable and slamming the Central government to have allowed it. The Congress party of Kerala took to X to say, "Three officers of the Armed Forces will appear on Kaun Banega Crorepati, a private entertainment show, in full uniform, explaining to a Bollywood actor the planning of a military operation. In any serious nation with a professional military, this would be unthinkable. But this is the spectacle of New India under Narendra Modi. An absolute disgrace. Shiv Sena (UBT)'s Priyanka Chaturvedi also commented on the show's promo and said, “Our heroic women in Uniform who went on to become the face of Operation Sindoor have been invited by a private entertainment channel on their show. This private entertainment channel’s parent company Sony Pictures Networks India (SPNI) has also bagged the broadcasting rights of the Asia Cup till 2031. Yes the very channel that seeks to earn revenue through India vs Pakistan cricket matches. Now join the dots." Several X users also slammed the decision of the KBC makers. "This is just unbelievable. Operation Sindoor heroes appearing on national TV show KBC Just because one 'nationalist' party wants to milk some votes?" one user wrote. "Have you ever seen anything like this after a military operation in any serious country? How is this even allowed for someone in service? The current regime is shamelessly using our forces for its petty politics and hyper-nationalism," another one wrote. "Our Army was sacrosanct, above politics, beyond PR. Today, Modi govt parades serving soldiers on shows like KBC for image building. Even our Army has been made a political tool for Modi’s PR. Our forces are to defend the nation, not a politician’s brand," yet another X user said. Quote
