Popular Post kevinUsa Posted August 17 Popular Post Report Posted August 17 I wasn’t born in Texas. I grew up in the Midwest before moving to Frisco at a young age. From the start, I loved this city. I loved my neighborhood, my teachers, my classmates, and the energy of a growing and diverse community. When I first moved here, I did notice that there were more Indians around me than in my old town. But it didn’t matter. I was raised to treat everyone as equal, no matter their background. That’s what I thought America stood for. Equality. Diversity. Rational thinking. But the more time I’ve spent here and the more I’ve read through this subreddit, the more I question whether those values still exist in practice. Most of the people posting and commenting here are adults. You’ve been through school. You know the difference between right and wrong. You understand that being American has nothing to do with race or ancestry. It’s about the values you live by and how you treat others. But that’s not what I see here. This subreddit is filled with anti-Indian posts and comments. Many of them have hundreds of upvotes. I’ve seen people casually call Indians smelly, greedy, dirty, and bad neighbors. I’ve seen posts claiming Indians are “ruining” the city. I’ve seen people say that only Americans who have been here for generations are the real ones. Worst of all, I’ve seen users admit they are teaching their children not to interact with Indian kids. That hits especially hard, because I’m one of those Indian kids. I graduated from a Frisco high school. This is my home too. Let me be clear. There absolutely are Indians in this area who act loud, dirty, entitled, or inconsiderate. I’ve seen it. I’m embarrassed by it. I believe they need to do better, not just for themselves, but because they make life harder for the rest of us. But those individuals are a small minority. They don’t represent all of us. Just like the worst-behaved white people don’t represent all white people. Most Indians in this city are educated, well mannered, and respectful. They are doctors, teachers, engineers, small business owners, and hardworking parents. We pay taxes. We contribute to the economy. We raise children who grow up loving this country just as much as you do. And we’re constantly trying to fit in, even when many of you make it clear that we’re not welcome. Why is that? Because a random Indian guy in a Tesla cut you off in traffic? Because there were too many of us at Costco on a Saturday afternoon? Do you hear how ridiculous that sounds? When white people act rude or commit crimes, no one generalizes all white people. No one calls the entire community a problem. But the moment an Indian does something wrong, suddenly we’re all grouped together and attacked. That’s racism. And it’s lazy. And it’s wrong. Frisco is one of the fastest-growing cities in America. Growth comes with challenges, but it also brings opportunity. You can choose to build a community based on respect and understanding. Or you can let hate, stereotypes, and bitterness define your legacy here. 2 3 Quote

I may be speaking only one aspect here and its a complex subject interwined with many aspects We don’t integrate well with American society. That’s the problem. We live in the little bubble we created for ourselves. People need to change and at the same time practice our religious values. For E.g. Indian festivals. Follow them but better do those in a community hall. Invite your other Asian and American friends/neighbors. Take proper city permissions as needed and follow security protocols. A lot of ppl still have that CHHAPRI mindset. Car rally’s, trashing theatres during movie releases, political rally’s, cheating and scandals, fake resumes, frauds are spoiling our reputation. We had decent name as a peaceful community. Not any more. We are associated with frauds these days. There are always two sides of the coin. There are people who follow rules and abide by law. But they are dissed as spine-less by our own Indian community. Hope desis try to integrate well with Americans. There is no other solution. 5 Quote

Fake ids, abuse, can’t have proper discussions, always crying (jealous?) on others prosperity and what not. Quote
