Judges usually take the officer's side. It's useless unless you have some proof to prove it otherwise, or if the officer does not attend the court.

Contesting a ticket in school zone is useless....almost always destined to fail. guilty ani cheppi fine thaggistharemo kanukko court ki poyyi.

How was your driving history ? If no tickets or accidents in last few years, try going to court and ask the judge nicely that it is not intended and you are in a rush to go somewhere.. it works out sometimes and worst case they might reduce points

See if a deferred adjucation is an option brother. It depends on the jurisdiction though.

There was a small accident -- 5 years back.  Both cars pulled out of parking lot at the same time.. mistake on both parties..  Police were not involved. 

No tickets in last 10 years.
