Strikingly, GST on most dairy products and agri produce are slashed….most items now attract ZERO % GST.

Almost all the items for which GST is slashed, esp dairy and processed fodo, small petrol cars and hybrid cars, motor cycles less than 350cc, even packed UHT and condensed milk, AC’s, TV’s, etc almost all the items rate tagginchinavanni to gain foot hold and make these items attractive price wise and these items won’t be able to compete with US goods in a price sensitive market..

Except dairy and processed food, I don't see how US sells these goods in India at all. US made automobiles lo bare minimum 2.0L and over engines untayi. Sub 4 metres ante picha lite. Those are the territory for Japanese and Korean brands.  Same to same for motorcycles.

Even Royal Enfield has gone up in CC, they are now looking at 650 and over. Their base trim is 350cc.  AC, TVs same most are made in Mexico and China. Even then American imports are subjected to same GST slabs + import duties.  Free trade deal means removing import duties, but GST will stay. 

Now, I'm thinking if this is to placate the anger on ethanol mixing 🤔
