If they want Sharia, they can have it in their country. Why do they want to have Sharia in Canada ?

No body will have any kind of sharia law forced up - Every body in Canada will have freedom to follow their own belief system , Canada will have Canadian law . Chill anna

No — Canada does not allow Sharia law to replace Canadian law. The law of the land must conform with the Constitution, including the Charter of Rights and Freedoms. However, there have been debates and proposals around limited uses of religious arbitration (including Sharia) in certain civil matters, but with serious restrictions and much public opposition. Here’s a breakdown:

What has happened historically

  • In Ontario in the early 2000s, there was a proposal (including a report by Marion Boyd) to allow religious arbitration tribunals, including ones using Sharia, to settle family disputes (marriage, divorce, custody etc.) voluntarily. (Al Jazeera)

  • That stirred significant controversy, including protests, especially from Muslim women’s groups and civil rights advocates. Concerns included whether religious arbitration would conflict with women’s rights and the equality guarantees in the Charter. (Canadian Council of Muslim Women)

  • In response, Ontario’s government (led by Dalton McGuinty) decided in 2005 to ban all religious arbitration in family law — not just Sharia-based arbitration, but Christian, Jewish, etc., when it involved family law issues. The rationale was that there should be "one law for all Ontarians" and that religious arbitration “threatens our common ground.” (News24)

What is and isn’t allowed now

  • Voluntary arbitration in civil matters is possible: Not all religious arbitration was banned. Civil arbitration (outside of family law) where two parties agree may still be permitted under laws like Ontario’s Arbitration Act. (The Washington Post)

  • Criminal law is entirely within the domain of Canadian law. Sharia tribunals or religious courts cannot make criminal rulings or impose punishments that conflict with Canadian criminal law. (The Washington Post)

  • Constitutional limits: Any system (including arbitration) must comply with the Charter of Rights and Freedoms. If a religious arbitrator’s decision conflicts with equality rights (e.g. gender equality) or other protected rights, those conflicts can be challenged in courts. (Al Jazeera)

Bottom line

So, while some protesters call for Sharia law, Canada does not allow Sharia law to be the law of the land. There has been limited, voluntary religious arbitration in certain civil matters, but the government has put laws in place to ensure all legal decisions still respect Canadian law and the rights enshrined in the Constitution.

It's not just in Canada, it's pretty much of the West. US has Michigan, same in UK, EU. Again, the question stayed the same. Who let in these sort of people in very large numbers? and why?

Left governments they let in as many as possible after Covid , they thought they can save countries from recession as new consumers added to economy+ can do vote politics in future elections. May be deep state also involved. But it failed big time they didn’t thought of giving time to integrate people of different backgrounds into western societies organically. Right is using this fuel the hate and play kabaddi with emotions . So far Muslim population is 4.9 % in canada no need to worry about sharia law ,but we all know how they multiply, agree every western country should keep a watch( UK is a gone case though)
