No slots available - emergency request approved

My OFC is done but my interview got rescheduled to April 2026. I am already in India and my emergency interview request was approved as I need to immediately travel back for my baby’s medical treatment. However I am unable to see any slots available when I try to schedule the emergency appointment. I have raised multiple requests and cases with the support but all they say is keep trying. Me being back in the US is time critical for my baby’s treatment and I am not sure what to do next. Any help would be appreciated.

Ohh…so the baby can’t travel? If it is so serious he would not have traveled in the first place. Naakenduku idi using baby’s citizenship as a weapon to obtain visa lekkundi. I hope I’m wrong though.

Sad but why he is not treating his baby in India? If his baby is in US, he can send money and a lot of friends will take care of her. He has a lot of solutions to the problem.

Wow, serzly dude...do you even have kids? bcz if you don’t, totally makes sense of this comment. If you do, then I genuinely feel bad for them. When a baby has a medical emergency, you will try every possible option to be there physically not send money or ask friends to handle it...thats not how parenting works. Also, what money are you talking about in us? medial care here runs on insurance, do you even know that, send money anta.  Em matladtharo sakam mandi ee sub lo, basic sense and empathy kuda ardam chesukoru.

Reditt Forum loo one person saying H1B program is essentially dead

Regarding initial/new applications, the H1B is essentially dead. No one is going to pay the $100k fee. It's now only about extensions and renewals, and they are doing everything to make that difficult. I would be very surprised if this program survives by the end of this presidency unless some kind of major trade deal is made between the US and India benefiting US hugely (like massive military purchases or completely opening Indian economy), or they somehow recognize the high impact it has on the tech industry. But I doubt that will happen, considering Indian Gov does not seem to be concerned much and how US companies are already hiring most tech workers in countries like India, UK, Romania, etc

It doesn’t make sense for India to consider massive trade or strategic concessions just to support an immigration program that benefits a limited group of people.

Countries negotiate deals based on long-term national interest, not short-term visa outcomes. The US will do what suits the US, and India should do what suits India. H1B should not be the basis for big geopolitical or economic decisions.

I’m not going to give an opinion one way or another, but I will say if they reduce h1b and that causes the jobs to leave the US, the government has an extremely powerful tool to force companies to bring the jobs back to the states without passing a single law. Most of those companies you’re talking about rely on government contracts. All an administration would have to do is threaten to use red tape on those contracts and they can make the companies to whatever they want. This is a common strategy in the US.

More comments from Reditt forum

Less to nothing hope for H1 going forward. My company one among fortune 50 has stopped H1b hiring completely starting this year and maintaining only renewals. The national sentiment and government is against the H1b hiring so companies want to stay off from wrath/line of fire. Good old days are over

There will be very few New H1B and those will be for people with exceptional skills. They will delay renewals and extensions even more. For those that have H1B they are trapped in a country that does not want them with almost no path to permanent residence. It will get worse next year as there are members of congress that are going to propose the program be cancelled completely.

Maybe you might have been seeing @Sucker gadi nonsense H1b <>Gc hype posts, bodi and any other Indian politicians only care about their vote bank and Indian market/economy if that person has any good intentions about the country. Why would anyone care about 0.001% who don’t even vote 🗳️?? According to them H1b’s are low level scums either local govt (US) care nor the own (ind) govt have any concerns about.
