But what truly made him special ? Here is a fight sequence that encapsulates that. Imagine, Telugu cinema early 2000s, just like how we are going through pan india rot, The audience back then either had hard-core faction action mass masala movies, family entertainers with large families and their conflicts & emotions or pure cliche starcrossed love stories with parents or family as the antagonists. Then came a movie called "Kushi". A pure urban romantic comedy was just a tag. This was a true epic. Romance, comedy, fun, fights, drama all in a lively youthful lens. Then enters, Our hero. He walks in with peculiar way of dressing, singing a raj kapoor song and speaking in Bengali with the villain..... In a telugu movie from 2001, with no translation. Yet the audience were hooked as the watch a very intricately done, natural fight sequence composed by the man himself with Raj Kapoor tribute medley starting half through the fight in background and blending in effortlessly. This was a fresh wave of moment, admist the loudness of our cinema. Guys, No one was and is doing it this way back then & today here, anymore. Even our hero himself has fallen to ways of Telugu cinema. The same old bhajana & rope fights with loud bgm. But, I & many will never forget why we like you in the first place? Stuff like this, truly pushing for something different & unique. That will always make you special across hearts of 1000s out there. . .. . //TLDR// Sorry for the long rant, but Happy birthday Kalyan, even if you forgot who you are, we will always remember the true special you.
