MACH Posted October 3 Report Posted October 3 ‘Weeping in first class’: Indian woman trolled for crying on video after losing job in America and moving to Dubai An Indian woman recently found herself at the center of online discussions after a video of her weeping in a first-class airplane cabin went viral. In the footage, she shares her emotional turmoil over leaving the United States after losing her job, explaining that she is relocating to Dubai in search of new opportunities. While the video resonated with some viewers who empathized with her situation, it also attracted widespread criticism and trolling. Many social media users focused on the contrast between her tears and the luxury of flying first class, questioning why someone experiencing hardship was traveling in such a manner. Indian woman cries after losing job in US and moving to Dubai, gets trolled Ananya Joshi recently shared a note of gratitude for the US as she departed the country, describing it as her first home as a financially independent adult. According to HT, Joshi completed her master’s degree in Biotechnology from Northwestern University in 2024 and subsequently joined a biotechnology startup under an F-1 Optional Practical Training (OPT) program. After being laid off from the startup, she began searching for a new job but was ultimately unsuccessful, documenting her experiences and struggles on Instagram and LinkedIn. In a video, she could be seen crying while documenting her move from the US to Dubai. As soon as the video went viral, people sarcastically commented on her “struggle,” saying this is the kind of struggle they want, crying in a first-class Emirates plane. One wrote, “Left the American dream to pursue Dubai dream and weeping in a first class, such a tough life.” Another added, “Oh to cry in an Emirates business class flight to go from America to Dubai. Living the dream I see. Hope my kids will be as privileged as you are today.” Quote
