That's a greater fool theory. It's a hit or miss. If it misses, you should file bankruptcy and hide. 

I think this social media influencer stuff plus insane celebrity culture of worshipping movie actors, have messed up Telugu people. Earlier, TG people used to be slightly better but they're also dumbed down these days.

I am not talking specifically about these opt u.s people taking loans ,I am talking generally about how people in India or even u.s go out of their means to buy property in expensive places and buy luxury items  just to get into good circles.

Some people love that attention and the benefits that come with it.

These people also have zero self respect they will bootlick anyone and everyone.

That's all because of "social media influencer" and " movie star" driven mania. 

They push consumerist culture without you even realizing it. You go to a movie you will see heroine using some costly brand bag. Male actor using some shades and shoes. Which is why brands targets these actors. Social media generally dumbed down public and pushed this mindless consumerist culture even into tier II-III cities.  Some stupid paid social media influencer goes to Maldives and strips into two piece, then these insta girls follow her lead. I can say same for iPhone and whatnot. The biggest affected group is middle glass, mostly girls who found their freedom through supposed feminism and empowerment. They don't realize jack$hit until they hit thirties.
